“I'm not sure that one year ago I would have seen myself practicing 3 or 4 times a week. Thank you so much for leading me and supporting my practice and my goals.”

Bob

Thank you both for taking the time to share the Ashtanga primary series last night. It was exceptional and a lot of fun. I look forward to another one soon!

Michelle is a powerful and passionate teacher who balances the sweet bliss of her Yoga practice with the grueling challenge of adventure racing. After attending her first class with Jenny, she immediately inquired as to how to experience more of the physical practice. Little did she know the desire to build a stronger, leaner physique would transcend to a journey of self-discovery, and self-acceptance.  She has since traveled the world exploring various styles of posture, meditation and breathing practices through Vinyasa, Sivananda, Ashtanga, and other yoga lineages. As in life, her classes are infused with ways to explore the delicate balance of effort and ease while contemplating the sweetness this present moment has to offer. You are sure to enjoy a class that is both a diverse and captivating experience.

For over a decade, Bev has been practicing yoga. From the moment she first sat on her mat, she was hooked! What struck her from the beginning of this journey was how accessible Yoga is – it truly is for every ‘body’. Inspired to learn more and share this beautiful practice, Bev completed her teacher training in the tradition of Sivananda Yoga and has been blessed since then with many teachers of various styles of yoga.

After giving birth to her two children, Bev became passionate about women’s prenatal bodies which inspired her to complete her pre and post natal yoga certification. She has also completed her Doula Certification through DONA and brings this training to her classes, empowering women and their bodies through the miraculous process of birthing new life.

Bryan, also known as YogiB, expresses his passion for the yoga tradition by honoring it in each moment of the day, on and off his mat. Greatly influenced by the teachings of Krishnamacharya and other great yoga masters, YogiB is a dedicated student of yoga, meditation and eastern approaches to wellbeing. His personal asana practices of Ashtanga and Yin enable him to enjoy equanimity of body, spirit and mind.

YogiB’s classes encourage you to draw your awareness inward while engaging your bandhas and breath as you transition with purpose into, through and out of each asana. He generously and graciously shares his learning’s with all; and believes everyone should do at least one Adho Mukha Svanasana (downward facing dog) every single day. He looks forward to connecting with you in his classes.

A number of years ago Emilie embarked on her first yoga experience which she describes as a journey of uniting the breath with body awareness through movement, resulting in the freedom of stillness. Her yoga teacher training in Edmonton encompassed Hatha & Vinyasa Yoga as well as an introduction to Yin, Restorative, Partner & Kids Yoga. Yoga has naturally become a part of her everyday life, as she is gaining sincere appreciation for her true self. She believes that each person can find that same sense of strength and peace in their own practice, which inspires her yoga teaching.

Exercise and physical well-being have always been a passion although not always a priority. The first form of guided exercise Lisa actually remembers was doing Lion’s Breath with her mother at the age of three. She has since embarked on many forms of exercise and in 1986 during her second amateur body building season, Lisa won the title of Women’s Overall Champion for New Brunswick. During her university years and early years of motherhood she suffered from anxiety and realized she’d lost her breath. Then a friend invited her to a yoga class and she was struck most of all by the silence. During Savasana, she noticed her body breathing deeply on its own, after only one class.

She appreciates the peace, focus and stillness of mind that accompanies her physical practice. Now a yoga instructor, Lisa’s wish is to share yoga with others, in particular high school students since it is now offered as a Phys. Ed credit. Yoga reaches far beyond the mat and touches every aspect of her life, calming her mind, helping her to be more mindful of eating while generating physical strength. Lisa can’t imagine my life without Yoga.

“Yoga for me is the first physical activity that also worked on the mental and spiritual aspects of who I am. Yoga is about transformation and it is a never ending process of discovery.” Born in Halifax, Brenda has lived in Vancouver, Orlando, and Ottawa but came home to settle in Bedford and raise her family. She ran long-distance for 7 years before a car accident led her to yoga to heal and recover. Mindful of alignment and injury prevention, Brenda loves to share her joy of yoga with others. She believes yoga is for everyone and every body and encourages people to listen to their intuition throughout their practice. Brenda is a dental hygienist with a Master's degree in adult education. She taught adults in university before following her passion for the ancient practice of yoga and becoming a yoga teacher through the Breathing Space Yoga Teacher Training.

“As we let our light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence actually liberates others.”
